Kédu

Free Clubroom Gig

Kédu is a child of many cultures - born and raised in Aotearoa, of Nigerian descent, and now based in Naarm/Melbourne; she is no stranger to the beauty of amalgamation. This sense of convergence sits at the heart of her practice as a live electronic performer, songwriter, and composer for screen and stage.

Best known as one half of the electronic duo Kédu Carlö alongside her solo project, Kédu’s music weaves together a tapestry of deep, hypnotic house-driven grooves and sensual, smooth vocals. Her latest release ‘What Can You Show Me?’ is a dance-focused EP, inspired by her recent move to Naarm and shaped through a year of DJ and live electronic sets.

From sharing stages with Nathan Haines at the Wellington Opera House and The Night Cat, to performing alongside Jujulipps at Northcote Theatre, and solo at Pitch Music & Arts Festival - Kédu has brought her magnetic live practice to stages across Aotearoa and Australia. With features in Attack Magazine (USA), Rolling Stone (AU/NZ), Sniffers (NZ), and Triple J (AUS), Kédu continues to carve out a distinct voice across the electronic music landscape. As part of Kédu Carlö, she has toured extensively throughout New Zealand and Australia, performing at renowned festivals including Splore, Electric Avenue, Two Minds Festival, and Rhythm and Vines. Celebrated for their high-energy performances, the duo seamlessly fuse synthesisers, live percussion, vocals, and DJ techniques into an electrifying hybrid live show. Most recently, they completed a tour across New Zealand and Australia alongside the release of their latest single and music video, Soul Alive. Beyond performing, Kédu Carlö are passionate educators, hosting annual Ableton Live production workshops in Auckland and Melbourne, where they share their live performance and studio practices with emerging artists.

Alongside her music releases, Kédu works as a composer and sound designer for screen and theatre. Her recent composition for the short documentary Amali screened at London’s BAFTA-qualifying film festival in 2025, marking a continued expansion into cinematic and orchestral sound worlds.

At the heart of Kédu's practice is a belief that beauty lives in convergence.
